Everyone recognized was given a certificate of appreciation. Those who worked at the school for 30 years were also given a watch. Those who reached 40-year benchmarks were given an engraved mantle clock as well.
According to Paul Higgins, director of human resources at DCC, the recognition ceremony was started by the school's current president, Dr. David Conklin, in the early-1990s.
"We do have individuals who have been here a long time," Higgins said. "It's to thank them for their dedicated service to the college. It's well-deserved."
Both Richard Reitano and Joan Mazza were recognized working at DCC for 40 years each.
Reitano is a professor and department head of history, government, and economics. He is from Poughkeepsie.
Mazza is a professor of allied health and biological science. She lives in Chappaqua.
